Robert Jayne is the Chief Production Officer at NMB. He thrives on enabling, teaching, and mentoring our sales team to grow in their markets and to build a better future for their families. In his 27 year career, he believes the team at NMB is set up to make major waves in the future. Robert sat down with our team to talk about where NMB is headed and how originators can seize the huge opportunities that are available.
Robert Jayne’s Interview Transcript
My name is Robert Jayne. I am the Chief Production Officer here for NMB and I am in charge of all of sales. I love my job for a few different reasons. Reason one is because I change people’s lives. And how I do that is I take someone that’s self-motivated and I show them the way and I guide them in the right direction. And the sky’s the limit in the mortgage industry. So the harder you work, the more money you make. The biggest part is support and transition. And we really came together on that platform and built a great transition team to really help transition one or two loan offices or branches of 30, 40 loan offices. I think most people make the decision to join NMB is because of the leadership. And the leadership from the executive team is by far the best I’ve ever worked with in my 27-year career.

We’re accessible at any given time. We start at six in the morning. We end at 11 o’clock at night. We’re available on the weekends. If you pick up the phone or you shoot us a text message, we’re answering. We just recently launched NMBU, which is a platform built for newcomers coming into the industry. Where we could teach them Q to Z of the mortgage industry. While the branch managers are currently still building their branches, we’re taking that burden off them. We’re going to train their sales employees to take it to the next level. So it frees up time for them, but everything flows through our core development learning and development department. I think that’s a big asset for the company. And for anyone coming into the NMB.
The real game-changer is Rosie, the robot. And I’m super excited for this platform because any questions that you may have, if it’s an NMB standard operating procedure, or if it’s a guideline, I ask Rosie, and Rosie gives me the answer right on the spot. That’s a huge game-changer because sometimes times we need answers on the spot. Realtors, accountants, attorneys, so on and so forth, sometimes they cannot wait for an answer. For example, I shot Rosie, an underwriting guideline, and Rosie gave me the answer right on the spot. I think it’s a huge game-changer for NMB and it’s another great tool in the tool belt. I think the future for NMB is a great future from the tools, the resources, the technology, the marketing department, the training and learning development department.
